Break The Depression Cycle
People
usually think of depression as an illness. But more often
than not, it’s just another programme you’ve installed in
your mind – and just as you put it in there, you can take it
out. Like so many other self-limiting programmes, the
solution is to break the links between the triggers and the
behaviours, and substitute new behaviours in their place.
The
problem with depression, though, is that it tends to feed on
itself. It may start as a general feeling of unease which
gets worse and worse, making the triggers and behaviours
seem a lot more serious and permanent than they really are.
And this can lead to a whole host of destructive behaviours
like anger, resentment, defeatism, and feelings of utter
helplessness.
At the
Milton Clinic, the first thing we do is get you into
a calm and relaxed state so that you can start to see things
a lot more objectively. Then we settle you into a light
trance state so that we can embed positive suggestions into
your unconscious mind to help you deal with the depressing
thoughts.
And if
there are issues contributing to your depression, we’ll help
you deal with them in a calm and detached way to help you
break out of the cycle
